Almost everything I've done in the last several years is (a) a dragon/critter for the Nexus -- and as a group, we're not in the habit of branding the images, (b) medieval scroll illuminations -- name on the back, and which piece it's modeled after, if it's not just out of your brain, or gift-art done in the same manner -- no signature on the front. You can see these things in my not-recently-updated gallery...
Classic artists sign the bottom of the painting with a flourish, cunning artists hide their sig in the painting (Have you seen the Pern character portraits Robin Wood did?)... on DeviantArt, the common thing seems to be either a stylized version of your signature, more like a logo, or a brand-thing that's kindof an overlay so you can't 'borrow' the art for your own purposes...
So I'm asking... what do you do? What have people you've gotten/bought stuff from done? I encourage you to send me links to examples, if you've got 'em. I'm totally drawing a blank on this.
